Call for Abstracts

The inaugural AEC FORUM, with the theme, DigiConstruct: Building New India is scheduled from 7-8 October, 2020 at HICC, Hyderabad. It is a unique knowledge-sharing platform curated to build an understanding of the digital transformation happening across the AEC sector in India. The forum will initiate conversations about the breakthroughs in the AEC sector from the adoption of the latest digital technologies inclusive of BIM, LiDAR, integrated geospatial and BIM (GEOBIM) solutions, AR/VR, AI, Blockchain & cloud-collaboration to create an opportunity for the stakeholders to bridge the digital gaps to reap the utmost potential of technologies in the project lifecycle.

To be inclusive of the great projects done across the country in both horizontal and vertical construction from a technology stand-point, we welcome abstracts from researchers, academicians, technology users, policy makers and other stakeholders of the construction industry for the first edition of AEC Forum. We invite you to send your original research abstracts and case studies structured according to the abstract submission guidelines (please check the guidelines). All the accepted research papers/abstracts will be eligible to be presented at the conference. Accepted authors must register online according to the registration guidelines.

ABSTRACT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

While submitting papers for AEC Forum 2020, speakers must put together an abstract that describes important aspects of the paper/project.

Technology/Product Papers

  • Define the specific scope and features of technology or product
  • Outline unique features and value proposition of the specific technology, product or service
  • Name associated technologies (both geospatial and mainstream) required for using the given technology/product by the end users
  • Define the major industry applications of the technology/products
  • Name existing and potential challenges in deployment of the technology/products

User Practices Papers

  • Specify the kind, purpose, and the return on investment generated of construction technology used in a particular project
  • List out benefits and values (both tangible and intangible) of deployment of the used construction technology
  • Identify the major hindrances and shortcomings in the utilization of construction technologies

Policy Papers

  • Define the nature and scope of policy in terms of geographical coverage - local, national, regional or global
  • Identify the benefits of technology policy mandates (existing/and proposed) in construction projects
  • Present a maturity matrix for policy readiness and its benefits
  • Address the need for an integrated BIM and spatial strategy for the development and advancement of AEC community
FEW THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND...
  • It is recommended that the author who chooses to present at the conference, the contact details of the same are used when submitting the abstract to avoid miscommunication regarding the submission and review process
  • All abstracts must be submitted in English
  • Abstracts are limited to 200 words
  • Do not include the abstract title or author information in the body of the abstract
  • If you have entered a valid email address, you will receive a confirmation email confirming the receipt of your submission
  • Please ensure you check your data carefully before submitting as changes or additions will not be accepted after the call for paper closes
  • The deadline for submitting abstracts is 15th June 2020
